The Group’s root can be found in the visionary and entrepreneurial spirit of Late Indra Mani Rajbhandari, with the foresight to create a company in Nepal bridging a gap for international companies and Nepal’s development aspiration.

Subba Indra Mani Rajbhandari established his business venture in 1958 after completing his tenure as Regional Administrator to Govt. of Nepal. He introduced international companies such British Motor Company, Indian Telecom Industries, Hindustan Machine Tools, AEG AG, NipponKoei, Toyota Motors etc in Nepal. NCEC was accredited to the First Transmission Line in Kathmandu valley, the first telecom exchange, First Vehciles from Japan and United Kingdom to Nepal. On his untimely death at the age of 49, Mr. Rajbhandari had already forged as founder of the Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and established a business segment for many to copy, and created a legacy as a philanthropist. His sons Madhav, Dibya and Deep went to divide the business amongst themselves.

Hon. Dibya Mani Rajbhandari took over the organization NCEC on the unexpected untimely death of his father. He led the organization for 40 year to greater heights and ventured into establishment and investment as promotors founders in the banking and insurance sector. He established the first Bi-Lateral business chamber, the Nepal German Chamber and founded the European Economic Chamber too. He has played a leading role in the business and economic diplomacy as Member of Prime Minister G.P. Koirala’s Economic Council. With deep interest in public service, Hon. Dibya Mani is currently serving the nation’s as Member of the Federal Parliament representing the Nepali Congress. He transferred the management and ownership of his business NCEC to his two sons Siddharth (Sonny) and Shiddhanta (Bunny).
